Branden and Rayni Williams and Jeff Hyland of Hilton & Hyland held the listing; The Hollywood Reporter reported that Jon Grauman and Mauricio Umansky of The Agency represented the buyer. Tavangarian had acquired the property out of bankruptcy in 2014 for $11.1 million and rebuilt it. The buyer was reported by several outlets as Liang Zhang, son of Guangzhou R&F Properties co-chairman Zhang Li, an identification that was never officially confirmed and that came while the grant deed was still unrecorded.

Developer Ardie Tavangarian of The Arya Group acquires the Sarbonne Road property for $11.1 million out of bankruptcy and takes a $16 million construction loan from First Credit Bank. The rebuild runs from roughly 2014 to 2018 and yields a house of about 25,000 square feet with a movie theater, a car elevator, an infinity pool, a two-story library and roughly 20,000 square feet of outdoor decks.
