The Italian Renaissance villa at 141 South Carolwood Drive, built in 1936 to a design by Robert D. Farquhar and once home to Tony Curtis, Sonny and Cher, and the Arnall family, sold for $88 million in a three-parcel transaction that closed in late December 2020 and was first reported January 4, 2021.
The seller was the Viewpoint Collection partnership, formed to liquidate the portfolio of the Woodbridge Group on behalf of investors defrauded in Robert Shapiro’s Ponzi scheme. The buyer was Calch Urban Investments, an Illinois limited liability company whose beneficial owner has never been disclosed.

Dawn Arnall sells to a Woodbridge affiliate
Sturmer Pippin Investments, an affiliate of Robert Shapiro’s Woodbridge Group, buys the estate from Dawn Arnall, widow of the billionaire Roland Arnall, for $90 million. Stephen Kotler of Douglas Elliman represented the seller and Adam Rosenfeld of Mercer Vine represented the buyer. At the time it was the second-highest residential price recorded in Los Angeles, behind the Playboy Mansion.
